Title: Bone Crusher
Lab goal/Question: If Mark, who weights 170lbs, collides with Abbey with a acceleration of 3.56 m/s/s, will his bone be able to withstand the pressure? It takes about 8 lbs of pressure to fracture/break a human bone from a dangerous angle.
Procedure:
1. First, you need 2 individuals, a meterstick, a scale, and a video camera to record the data.
2. Measure the mass of the individual who will be doing the tackling. If it's in pounds, convert it to kilograms
2. Put about 4 meters to 5 meters of distance between the first individual and the second individual.
3. Before you begin to record, make sure you are perpendicular to the video camera.
4. At the beginning of the video, hold the meterstick parallel to the ground to set the scale in the video.
5. After the scaling, have the individual who was holding the meterstick, accelerate and tackle the second individual.
6. Next, log into Logger Pro, upload the video, and anaylze it by adding data points to the video.
7. Collect the data for acceleration.

Force of the hit = Mass x Acceleration
77.1kg x 3.56 m/s/s = 274.5 N

How much pressure it takes to break human bone

In 1 N = 0.101971621 Kg.
274.5 N x 0.101971621 Kg/1 N = 27.99 Kg

Conclusion: Given that the average human bone holds about 8 lbs, Abbey's bone would break if hit from a dangerous angle. The reason is because, Mark delievers 27.99 Kg amount of force, compared to the force human bone can hold, which is about 3.63 kg. However, this data may not always result as our conclusion because a lot of factors would have to be in a correct condition in order for the human bone to break. Unlike the collision in the video, the hit would have to be at an angle which goes against the joint. Also, we couldn't find a reliable data on how much pressure a human bone could withstand and so our data could be completely off based on yahoo source.
